Act I of The Matrix presents an apparently familiar world, but one where strange things can happen. Much is foreshadowed. The first half of Act II continues to explain this strangeness by showing rather than verbal exposition. It all seems so plausible. The second half of Act II sets up the betrayal and capture of Morpheus and through Neo's meeting with the Oracle, foreshadows how he will become The One. Act III both rescues Morpheus and transforms Neo into The One. And two sequels are set-up too. Structurally, there is nothing to fault in The Matrix and everything to gain by following its template pattern.
