Billy Elliot sets up a world full of conflicts and utilizes the Sequence-Scene model ideally. Billy must confront and prevail against his family and society's prejudice against boys participating in ballet. The setting is the conflict between the police and determined miners who are on strike in the harsh realities of Margaret Thatcher's Britain. Note how dancing provides focused respite scenes between the sequences of conflict. Billy wins. The narrative stays with Billy essentially all the way.
The Screenplay Summary clearly presents Sequence structure and plot milestones. There are distinct similarities between the structure of Billy Eliott with Coyote Ugly and Breaking Away.
